How To… Rock This School Year in Style!

Hi guys! It’s that time of year again, back to school posts are heading your way. August is the Sunday of summer, and while I wish summer could last forever, heading back to school is inevitable. However, it doesn’t have to be the nightmare that so many make it out to be. There are plenty of things to love about the school year: spirit days, hanging out with friends, and of course…getting to wear cute outfits! Today I’m showing you a few of my favorite looks for back to school. Get inspired and rock the runway (or hallway in this case)!

Look #1: Lately, I have been obsessed with vintage & French girl style. Think Audrey Hepburn meets 2017 (I know Audrey is British, but just stick with me here). Inspired by my pinterest board, I put together this outfit with old school style in mind. I am in love with these new high waisted jeans. The frayed hem and lace-up detailing on the side makes a statement. Since the jeans are the focal point of the look, I kept the rest of the ensemble pretty simple with a striped button down shirt and a cream bralette underneath, paired with my white Keds.

Look #2: “Liv, are you actually wearing that to school?” Yes, yes I am. Those who know me personally know that I am notorious for dressing up for no particular reason. I wear skirts and dresses to school more often than most, but it’s all good because some outfits just deserve to be worn. This is one of those outfits. I love all of the pieces of this look because they each bring something different. The skirt’s wild print and unique silhouette draws the eye to it immediately. I love this tie top because it’s so versatile, you can wear it with skirts, jeans, shorts…whatever! Finally, I love these booties with all my heart (probably one of my favorite pairs of shoes in my closet tbh). And yes, I do wear heels to school because I’m extra, but I mean c’mon, this outfit is killer.

Look #3: Of course, even I have days where I want to be a bit more casual. I love this look because it’s super comfortable yet maintains my vintage-inspired style with the off-the-shoulder checkered top. I think the embroidered flowers on the sleeves adds to the cuteness as well! These navy shorts are super stretchy and easy to pair with pretty much every top. I opted for my silver sandals, as I would probably wear this while the weather is still hot, but when it starts to cool down, you could easily swap out sandals for sneaks!

p.s. I know my hair was “gone with the wind” but sometimes you just gotta roll with it 🙂

What To Wear On Vacation!

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Hey guys! Today, I thought I would do a post showing you my two absolute FAVORITE looks for the summer. I could literally live in these looks, and I think they embody what vacationing is about. Here are my two favorite looks for summer vacation 2017!

The Flowing Maxi

Maxi dresses basically embody travel goals. They’re elegant and whimsical, and oh-so perfect for picture taking. Especially this great dress I found from Marshalls. It flows in the wind so beautifully and somehow managed to make me look taller than 5’5”. The tie waist gives it an, “I’m not trying, but I look like an effortless bohemian queen” vibe, and the pretty floral pattern captures the essence of summer – which is why it’s perfect for vacationing! I paired it with a braided headband and of course had to go barefoot and play in the sand.

The Tropical Bikini

There’s something I love so much about leaf print bikinis. This bikini felt surprisingly uber comfortable while still looking very fun and flirty! White is bright and flattering on top of freshly sun kissed skin. I’m personally obsessed with white bikinis, and the leaf print added another level to this summer look. After ordering it at Forever 21, I saw multiple other retailers produce similarly styled bikinis advertised in their brand new swimwear lines! It’s safe to say this print is catching on. Now I just need some good accessories…and a way to get a tan going strong all summer.

Liv’s Tips: Summer Travel Hacks That Will Save Your Life

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Hey guys! I’m back and better than ever because break is right around the corner! *squeals* I’m super excited for this post, because it marks the first installment in my summer series! I know it’s only May, but Memorial Day is tomorrow, and to me, that marks the official beginning of summer! This summer, I’m pumped that I get to do so much traveling. But, traveling can sometimes be more stressful than it needs to be. So today, I’m bringing you the most useful traveling hacks to help make this summer the most epic yet! Read on to learn how you can slay the vacay!

Tip 1: Roll Your Clothes

Processed with VSCO with c1 presetYou have probably heard this before, but you guys NEED to roll your clothes. It totally saves room! If you need even more space, I would recommend using a space bag (those plastic bags that you vacuum the air out of). That way you don’t have to worry about cramming your entire wardrobe into your suitcase!

Tip 2: Put Washi Tape On Your Electronics

Processed with VSCO with c1 presetIf you’re traveling with family or friends, it’s more than likely that you’ll accidentally mistake your electronics for another person’s. By putting the same pattern washi tape on your electronics, it’s so much easier to identify your electronics from the rest. Not to mention, it looks super cute too!

Tip 3: Place Shoes In A Showercap

Processed with VSCO with c1 presetIf you don’t like putting your shoes on top of your clothes when you pack your suitcase, you can use a shower cap instead! Stick your shoes inside a shower cap before placing it on top of your clothes. Alternatively, you can use a plastic grocery bag or a Ziploc bag, anything you have on hand to prevent your clothes from getting dirty! Super easy and neat!

Tip 4: Put Underwear In Shoes To Save Space

Is it just me, or is there never enough room in my suitcase (I’m a notorious overpacker)? I like to roll up my socks and underwear and stick them inside of my shoes to save even more space. My shoes smell pretty good most of the time though, so if your shoes stink I would not recommend doing this (just kidding).

Tip 5: Store Money in Several Places

Processed with VSCO with c1 presetThis will save your butt if you ever get your wallet stolen. What I like to do is put money in a few different places, so that if one stash of cash gets stolen, you have other stashes hidden around.

If you want me to do more of these kinds of posts, let me know what you think!

Happy Summer!

New York Minute Photo Diary

Happy November everyone! Autumn is flying by without a doubt, and with winter rapidly approaching, I wanted to upload at least one more fall related post before I hear jingle bells (get excited)!

This past weekend I went into the city with my bestie, Jill. We had so much fun walking around, talking, and seeing Dead Poet’s Society, our favorite movie now an off-Broadway play! It was such a gorgeous autumnal day that we took so many pictures, and, naturally, I wanted to put them on the blog. Enjoy and stay tuned!

Summer Lookbook 2016

Hey guys, I’m back finally! I was in South Dakota for about a week, and I’ll be gone for a month in New York, so I wanted to check in before I disappeared again!!

So for today’s blog, I am doing a summer lookbook. I’m excited to show you guys the looks I put together (featuring lots of sunglasses). Enjoy!

Outfit #1: 70s Sweetheart

IMG_1851IMG_1860IMG_1866IMG_1867IMG_1870IMG_1874IMG_1877

Lately I’ve totally been digging the 70s vibe! I paired a printed blouse with an adorable denim button down skirt. To spice it up, I added a pair of aviators and a brown floppy hat.

Outfit #2: Comfortably Chic

IMG_1887IMG_1892IMG_1900IMG_1903IMG_1906

A definite go-to for errand runs, I paired a white tank with my fave black and white “hippie pants” and my silver sandals. I also wore my elephant necklace which I absolutely adore!

Outfit #3: Festival Fun

IMG_2039.jpg

I love this Coachella inspired outfit so much! The top is from the H&M/Coachella line and I decided to pair it with these adorable printed shorts. For footwear, I went comfortable with my white Converse. To accessorize, I added a bronze statement necklace and my favorite, Lennon-inspired sunnies!

Outfit #4: Summer DressyIMG_2536IMG_2542IMG_2554IMG_2563IMG_2567IMG_2573IMG_2577IMG_2579

I think this is the perfect outfit for a summer party! I paired a cut out top with some ripped white capris and my same silver sandals. It’s simple yet extremely elegant.

Outfit #5: Brunch Babe

IMG_1807IMG_1809IMG_1811IMG_1813IMG_1817IMG_1841

As dressy and put-together as this looks, all it takes is the perfect chambray  dress and a few cute accessories. I paired the dress with some adorable peep-toe olive heels. Finally, I added a long chain necklace and my Lennon sunnies once again.

I hope you guys get inspired to try some of these looks for the remainder of summer! Don’t forget to leave a comment of future post suggestions!

What I Wore: Easter Edition

Happy Easter everyone! This year, I went for a dressy, spring-inspired look. Read on!

My printed dress screams “SPRING!” with its pastel colors and floral pattern. Because it’s still a bit chilly outside, I decided to pair this dress with a basic white shrug.

I am absolutely in love with my white lace wedges! They’re cute and I’m still able to walk around without falling on my face (…okay, maybe I tripped once).

Finally, to accessorize, I added hints of navy with my Coach wristlet and my sparkly headband. As far as jewelry is concerned, I kept it simple and opted for my pearl earrings. I went for a light, shimmery makeup look and pulled my hair into a half up half down.

This look is perfect for church, but feel free to wear it on any spring day! For all who celebrate…have a wonderful Easter!

How To… Stay Stylish on Valentine’s Day

Hey everyone! With Valentine’s Day coming up, I’m sure that many of you are currently making plans to celebrate. I have put together a look-book with a variety of outfits, perfect for any Valentine’s Day activity! So whether you want to look good for bæ or just for yourself (wear whatever makes you happy), read on for more!

Outfit #1: Preppy

I absolutely love this look! It’s super cute, sporty, and fresh. I’m wearing a button down collared shirt and layered my fave sequined “I Love…” sweater from H&M on top. I cuffed my jeans and paired them with my white high top Converse. Finally, I completed the look with a quilted black vest and a big red bow! This look would be perfect for a walk or a picnic in the park.

Outfit #2: Sophisticated

For those of you planning on having a more sophisticated night, this outfit will do the trick! I paired my red American Eagle sweater with a black lace skirt and opaque tights, along with my J. Crew heels from a local shop. I’m wearing my hair in a bun Ă  la Lauren Conrad and went with a red lip to tie the look together. This outfit would be the perfect option for a V-day party at a friends!

Outfit #3: Dressy

Out to dinner? Try a little black dress. It’s a staple in every girl’s wardrobe because of its versatility. You can dress it up or down depending on the occasion. I chose to do the former by adding a pink statement necklace, gold dangles, and my favorite clutch. On my feet, I opted for my black booties because they add a bit of edge to the look.

Outfit #4: Casual

There’s nothing wrong with going casual for Valentine’s Day. In this outfit, I paired my ruffled chambray shirt and red jeans together. While I originally had my tan booties on, I swapped them out with my black rain boots once I got to the beach. This outfit is ideal for brunch or an afternoon lunch date!

Outfit #5: Flirty

I must admit – I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the classic glam look. I attempted to emulate the era with my 1940s style dress and pearl earrings. At the same time, I gave the classic look a modern twist with my black wedge booties (featured in my January favorites post). To complete the outfit, I put my hair in a low braided chignon and added a gold Alex & Ani bangle. This look demands to be out dancing (bonus points for swing dancing to experience the full effect!)

What are your Valentine’s Day plans? Be sure to leave a comment!

Until next week!

How To… Style Winter Staples

Processed with VSCOcam with hb2 presetIt’s January and winter weather is finally normal where I live! Today was a perfect sunny day so my good friend Gigi and I decided to go shopping. Here, I put together an outfit that puts all of my winter fashion essentials into one look. Check it out…

  1. Legwarmers – These ain’t your momma’s leg warmers from the 80s. As a dancer, I wear leg warmers on a weekly basis. However, they also add flair to an outfit (not to mention keeping your calves cozy).
  2. Boots – Nothing says “winter” like a great pair of boots. Here, I’m wearing my favorite brown riding boots from B.O.C., while Gigi opted for a pair from UGG.
  3. Leggings – You really can’t go wrong with a pair of leggings. You can pair them with virtually anything. I wore a classic black pair & Gigi rocked a burgundy pair.
  4. Sweaters – Sweaters are basically synonymous with cold weather. I could LIVE in these. Gigi and I both wore cream sweaters, mine a scoop neck from Gap and hers a cable-knit cowl neck.
  5. Scarf – Ah yes, the infamous scarf. Anyone who knows me personally is aware of my scarf addiction. The gray scarf that I’m wearing has cutout details that make it interesting. Pairing a scarf with an outfit gives it a final touch that makes the look complete.

Having these 5 staples in your winter wardrobe will keep you stylish while staying warm…have fun! Cheers!
